- Written by: Telegraph Magazine
Yeh Shu-hua, the popular Taoyuan native and member of the global K-pop girl group i-dle, is taking center stage as Taoyuan's official Tourism Ambassador. Starring in a dynamic new international promotional campaign, Shu-hua is inviting travelers worldwide to discover her hometown. Far more than just Taiwan's primary international gateway, Taoyuan boasts seamless transportation, an abundance of natural landscapes, a rich cultural heritage, and world-renowned local cuisine.
Three uniquely curated signature travel routes are recommended. Via the Taoyuan Airport MRT line, travelers can easily experience marine life at the Xpark Aquarium and enjoy premium shopping at Gloria Outlets. Culturally rich and scenic, the Dalongmen Tourism Corridor connects the historic areas of Daxi, Longtan, and the Shimen Dam, offering beautiful landscapes paired with authentic local traditions. Showcased at the historic districts of Taoyuan and Zhongli is a vibrant multicultural identity-blending Minnan, Hakka, and diverse global traditions-alongside legendary local delicacies.
Global travelers are encouraged to plan their upcoming trips around an exciting series of major flagship festivals scheduled for the latter half of 2026: Taoyuan Land Art Festival (July 4–August 30) that celebrates the striking natural beauty of the city's coastline through large-scale art installations; Pearl Coast Music Festival (August 1–2); Taiwan Design Expo (September 24–October 11); Taoyuan Halloween that kicks off at the end of October.
"As the first stop for many international visitors to Taiwan, Taoyuan combines excellent transportation with diverse tourism resources and vibrant festivals," said Chen Ching-fang, director of the Department of Tourism, Taoyuan City Government. "We warmly welcome travelers from around the world to experience Taoyuan's unique blend of culture, nature, and year-round festivities."
